Chapter 2: Happy unmarried?? well… almost.

When you are single, living alone and a woman in India, every passing day becomes a living nightmare for you. Every single man you bring in your house is a prospective ‘damad’ for your parents and every time you have to go to a friends marriage comes a great question, are you going to be the single lady who is going to be paroled by the Aunties who have been appointed to do the task of holy matrimony that the marriage sites or the great friend who attends all the marriages with someone. Darn life.

Oh well, I am Tania by the way, a PR by profession and yes, single, not looking, not even remotely in need of a relationship. You can say I am attractive, so says most of the men I work with, but you know men, they will say that to any girl they meet.

Lets see, I am 20 something, shoulder length smart straight hair, a fair complexion, not the book model type, but an average girl next door. My life is not that a big mess, I am really happy with what I am. A successful PR with her own firm in hand, I own a big penthouse in one of the most popular cities in the world, Pune. I drive a smart black sedan to work and have no regrets in life.

Well, almost…

See, I am not that hopeless romantic girls with pink walls on their room, hell no. In fact getting into a relationship actually freaks me out, I avoid that road by miles. But you know, however smart or successful you may be, you definitely need that cuddle, don’t you?

Ideally my big penthouse is not so filled with people, a 29” television is definitely not good to satisfy that feeling of loneliness in the darkness of night and every time you watch 27 dresses, you surely miss someone in the room.

What lead to my life here is out of question, I am not here to share my professional success story with you, leave that for the motivational autobiographies, I am here to see where this life leads me.

You know however hopeless, boring and worthless life it may seem, there is always a new morning to wake up to.
